Northern Panthers claim the 2017 Female Bantam AAA Atlantic Championship
Moncton, NB – The 2017 Female Bantam AAA Atlantic Championship wrapped up today in Moncton, NB with the Northern Panthers winning a hard-fought battle against the Western Wind of PEI. The Panthers took a 2-1 lead into the third period and added an empty net goal late to win the game 3-1.
In the Bronze Medal Game, the Host, Moncton Rockets defeated the Metro West Force Red of Nova Scotia by a score of 3-1.
Also, taking place Saturday night was the Female Bantam AAA Atlantic Championship Awards Banquet. The teams were fortunate to have CWHL player Ann-Sophie Bettez on hand to talk to them about her hockey journey and had great words for all the players and coaches. The award winners were as follows:
- MVP – Valerie Hachey – Northern Panthers
- Top Forward – Erica Plourde – Northern Panthers
- Top Defence – Arianne Roy – Northern Panthers
- Top Goaltender – Grace Hatcher – Eastern Ice Breakers
- Top Scorer – Marik Mallet – Northern Panthers
The 2017 Female Bantam AAA Atlantics were a great success with great hockey put on by all the teams representing their respective provinces. The host committee and the Moncton Rockets would like to thank all the sponsors and teams for a great weekend of hockey.
