September 15, 2009
Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador will be holding their Fall Meetings at Hotel Gander in Gander on September 18 and 19.
All divisions of hockey will be meeting to plan for the upcoming season and setting dates and sites for provincial championships and play downs. Regional workshops are planned for minor hockey associations to discuss the issues that impact their region. Senior Hockey delegates will be discussing the results and reports from the summit that took place last January. Female representatives will be organizing for a busy year with the addition of a Bantam regional team program and the 2010 Newfoundland and Labrador Winter Games being held. In Junior Hockey, teams and leagues will be planning for a number of events that will coincide with the 75th Anniversary of the provincial hockey association.
Gerry Evans, President, Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador states, “that these pre-season meetings are always well attended and important to our membership with so many associations and leagues having new members. This is a time where all divisions of our association have an opportunity to receive information, network and debate issues that impact their operations, remarked Evans.
The meeting kicks off on Friday evening with an open plenary session and will conclude on Saturday with council meetings. A complete agenda for each division is attached.
